Two million people watched Shakira’s show this Saturday, on Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro. The Colombian singer welcomed special guests on stage such as Anitta, Caetano Veloso, Ivete Sangalo and Maria Bethânia.
Expectations were high, but the audience on Copacabana beach still had to wait more than an hour to see Shakira on stage. The Colombian singer reportedly had a personal problem that caused her to delay the show. Then, before the song, there was a drone show.
With the problem resolved, Shakira appeared in front of two million people and performed for two and a half hours.
“GWell, I’m so happy! I’ve always been waiting for this moment and now Shakira in Rio”, said the Colombian, visibly moved by the crowd: “It’s magical to think that millions of souls are here, together. ready to sing, to be moved, to love.”
On stage he welcomed Anitta, Caetano Veloso, Ivete Sangalo and Maria Bethânia.
After Madonna and Lady Gaga, Shakira was the big name at the free event “Todo Mundo No Rio”.
The show had one of the largest structures set up in Copacabana, with a 1,500 square meter stage and a 25 meter corridor.
