At least two people were killed and 37 others were injured Sunday when a monster truck plowed into a crowd during a demonstration in the southern town of Popayan in Cauca province, according to the governor.
Dramatic footage circulating on social media shows the monstrous vehicle jumping a barrier, unable to brake in time and, staggering, changing course and dragging the crowd watching the show. The Reuters agency clarifies that the visual material in question has not yet been independently verified.
According to the Colombian newspaper “El Espectador”, the mourning atmosphere is weighed down even more by the news, conveyed by a city official, that among the victims is a little girl of only 10 years.
