The National Court attributes the illicit trafficking of information from a mobile phone of Pablo Iglesias’ former advisor to the retired police officer.


The National Court has sentenced retired commissioner José Manuel Villarejo to three years and six months in prison . The court considers him the author of a crime of revealing secrets for illicitly trafficking with information obtained from a mobile phone “stolen” from Dina Bousselham, who was an advisor to Pablo Iglesias during his time as a Podemos MEP. In a ruling, the magistrates also impose the payment of compensation to Bouselham and Iglesias of 5,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively, amounts for which the General Administration of the State will be responsible as subsidiary civil liability.
