O influencer Luan Lennon and two other people from his team were arrested after forging a robbery in the center of Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Thursday (7), to film and post on the internet. The information was confirmed by police officers from the 4th DP (Praça da República).
The Civil Police agents explained that Luan Lennon Camacho Braga Oliveira left the window of a car open and planned with a flannel that he would offer R$30 to a pedestrian to steal a cell phone that was inside the vehicle.
According to the police, all the action would have been recorded by the influencer in a car across the street to later be published on the internet. Then, according to the police, he approached the alleged thief and tried to arrest him.
A 4th DP reported that the prisoners and the flanelinha could still be held responsible for procedural fraud and were arrested in the act. “The three were interviewed and charged with the crime of slanderous reporting. The investigations continue to clarify all the facts and identify possible others involved”, said the Civil Police in a statement.
The State Secretariat of Military Police (SEPM) reported in a note that, on Thursday, teams from the 5th BPM (Praça da Harmonia) were called to Praça da República to check an incident of possible cell phone theft. “At the scene, the police found a man detained by members of the public. A cell phone was seized. One man presented himself as a victim and three others as witnesses. All were taken to the 4th DP to assess the facts”, said a statement from the Military Police.
O Lennon’s Instagram has more than a million followers and this is where the candidate for councilor for the PL in 2024 describes himself as “a 23-year-old carioca, businessman and law academic”, in addition to claiming to be “fighting disorder throughout the State of Rio de Janeiro!”.
