The American president criticized her for her stance on security issues in the Middle East, in an interview with the Corriere della Sera newspaper, on the occasion of Rome’s intention to provide naval assistance in the Straits of Hormuz.
“Italy did not stand up for us when we needed it. I have always helped Italy, as has my country,” said the American president.
In this way, Donald Trump commented on Italy’s intention to send a minesweeper to the Straits of Hormuz after the end of the war.
The American president also emphasized that he is “still considering the possibility of reducing the total number of American soldiers stationed in Italy.”
