13-year-old teenager is found dead with signs of sexual violence in Rio

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old girl found injured in the back of the house where she livedin Vila Rosali, São João de Meriti neighborhood, in Baixada Fluminense. The young woman, identified as Myrella Freire Venceslauwas taken to the Municipal Hospital of Meriti, but did not survive.

According to information recorded in the police report, the teenager showed signs of beating and signs of sexual violence. The case happened on Thursday, the 8th.

According to reports gathered by investigators, the victim’s mother was working at the time of the incident. Her partner had left for a job interview, leaving Myrella and her 4-year-old brother, alone in the house, located in the region of Pau Branco Hill.

Upon returning to the property, the woman only found the boy and noticed the teenager’s absence. Family members began searching for the young woman and located her injured in the back of the residence. she was rescued by relatives and taken to hospital in a private car.

Still according to the incident record, the The victim’s brother reportedly told family members that “an uncle came into the house” and made him sleep.

In a statement, the City of São João de Meriti reported that the teenager was admitted to the hospital at 5:20 pm. “The victim suffered multiple traumas and arrived at the unit after death“, informed the municipal administration.

The Military Police stated that there was no incident involving corporation agents and said that the teenager was rescued by people.

O case is investigated by the Civil Policewhich investigates the circumstances of the death and seeks to identify the person responsible for the crime.
