- The SNS criticizes the pro-growth measures of the Ministry of Economy.
- The party is hindered by the proposal to cancel recreational and sports vouchers.
- The SNS calls for tax reductions and strengthening of social security to support consumption.
Pro-growth measures from the workshop of the Slovak Ministry of Economy will be criticized by the SNS at the coalition council. She is hindered by the proposal to cancel recreational and sports vouchers, she also has reservations about other proposals. According to her, it is also not possible for pro-growth measures to be unsystematic and chaotic. Zuzana Škopcová, director of the office of the president of the SNS, informed about it.
“The very proposal to cancel and limit recreation and sports vouchers of the SNS confirms that the people who prepared the material for the pro-growth measures do not understand the issue in question,” said Škopcová. The Minister of Tourism and Sports Rudolf Huliak (independent) also spoke out against limiting recreation and sports vouchers before Wednesday’s government meeting.
The SNS is convinced that the proposal for pro-growth measures is just another missed opportunity for reform, which the Slovak economy urgently needs. According to her, it is the only way reducing taxes, motivating the business sector and strengthening the social security of citizens, which will be reflected in higher consumption by the population.
The Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic stated on Tuesday (May 12) in connection with the criticism of pro-growth measures that it will not comment on any sub-processes until the political decision of the government coalition. Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said last week that the coalition council should discuss the measures on Thursday (May 14). The first decisions could be taken at a subsequent meeting of the government.
