A Telefónica recorded a net loss of 411 million euros in the first quarter of 2026, less than a third of the loss of 1.3 billion euros calculated in the same period last year, according to the balance sheet released by the Spanish telecommunications company this Thursday (14).
Telefónica’s adjusted EBITDA – a closely monitored profitability measure – grew 1,4% in the same comparison, for 2.84 billion euroswith the corresponding margin increasing from 34.6% to 34.9%.
Revenue rose 0.5% to 9.13 billion eurosthanks mainly to the performance of service revenue.
Revenue in Spain and Brazil grew 2% e 7,4%respectively, on an annual basis and at constant exchange rates. In Germany, revenue fell 8.6%.
Adjusted Ebitda and revenue results surpassed analyst forecasts of 2.79 billion euros and 8.07 billion eurosrespectively, according to a survey provided by the company itself.
Telefónica maintained its projection for the year, which includes revenue growth between 1,5% e 2,5%. The company also continues to forecast an increase in adjusted EBITDA of between 1.5% and 2.5% and free cash flow of around 3.0 billion euros.
