An alleged opinion article written by Renata Marques entitled “Right-wing women are jealous of transgender women” is circulating on social media. Maria Vieira took the opportunity to attack the “ridiculous and dressed-up creature”. But is the article real? SIC Verifies.

The image is presented with the graphics of the newspaper Expresso, from the Impresa group, as if it were an opinion article. An “exclusive” from author Renata Marques who says that “the Right-wing women are jealous of transgender women.”

On social media, this supposed article circulates and spreads virally, even reaching in which it is pointed out that the “journalist Renata Marques stated in an article in the newspaper Expresso what part of women who identify with the right would demonstrate discomfort with the presence of transsexual women in the affective market“. It is alleged that “analysis was based on a study by ISCTE – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, which investigated social and cultural factors associated with electoral behavior”.

Maria Vieira took the opportunity to point the finger, without verifying the real origin of the item: “This ridiculous, bra-clad creature says that right-wing women are jealous of ‘transvestites’! As if we are jealous of mentally ill men who dress like women and who think they are women, despite not having breasts, vaginas, uteruses and ovaries!”

E, not checking, did not reach – or did not want to reach – the conclusion that the supposed article is nothing more than a manipulated image. There is no text published in the newspaper Expresso with this title, nor does the supposed author who signs it exist. by the name of Renata Marques, confirms the suspicions.

Furthermore, an analysis carried out using the detection of content generated by AI, SightEngine, by image of alleged author Renata Marques reveals with 97% probability that this was the target of manipulation.

SIC spoke to Expresso, which stated that the publication it’s a lie, one more among others that associate the name of the newspaper with false articles or authors generating misinformation.
