Felipe Marques Monteiro recently underwent surgery and had complications
Rio de Janeiro Civil Police helicopter pilot Felipe Marques Monteiro died this Sunday (17). He was shot in the head during a Operation Turnstilein Vila Aliança, in the West Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, in March 2025.
Through a post on Instagram, the family announced the death of the police officer. “Today we say goodbye with pain, but also with gratitude for all the strength, love and example he left in our lives. His legacy will never be forgotten”, wrote the relatives.

The policeman was hospitalized for nine months. He was discharged in December 2025. The following month, in January 2026, was hospitalized again due to a infection.
In April, Felipe underwent surgery of cranial prosthesis. After the operation, the pilot had complications e underwent new procedures. On Thursday (14), through social media, the police officer’s wife reported that the his health condition had worsened.
