A concert organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Cairo in the famous cave church of Saint Simon in Manschiyyet Nasser, the “garbage city” of Cairo, last Friday is currently causing strong criticism in Egypt, reports the student magazine campus awhich was on site at the concert. What began as an international cultural project with young people ended after a rave performance by an Austrian artist in the holy halls with a power cut, media outrage, church protests, criticism on social media and an apology from the Austrian organizers.
