Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) tried to increase the political weariness of the Banco Master case by associating President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and the President of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo, in the negotiations involving businessman Daniel Vorcaro.
The statement was made this Tuesday (19), hours after the release of the AtlasIntel/Bloomberg survey that showed the senator’s drop in voting intentions following the repercussion of the audios about the financing of the film “Dark Horse”, a production about Jair Bolsonaro.
During a meeting with PL parliamentarians and journalists, Flávio mentioned reports about meetings between Lula, Galípolo and Vorcaro during discussions involving Banco Master.
“You see the involvement, yes, the involvement of the President of the Republic himself”, stated the senator.
In his speech, Flávio cited a report according to which Lula had advised Vorcaro to wait for changes in command of the Central Bank during negotiations related to the bank. The senator said that the episode would show that Roberto Campos Neto “had absolutely nothing to do” with attempts to help the financial institution.
The statement occurred at a time when the senator’s pre-campaign is trying to reorganize its communication strategy after the electoral impact caused by the revelations of The Intercept Brazil.

According to the AtlasIntel survey released this Tuesday, Flávio fell six percentage points in a second round scenario against Lula since April.
At the press conference, the senator also reinforced the defense of a CPMI to investigate Banco Master and stated that the commission would be necessary to clarify political responsibilities in the case.
“Banco Master’s CPMI is more urgent than ever,” he said. “It will be the only way to separate criminals from innocents.”
Flávio also criticized parliamentarians from the government base for not supporting the investigation.
“So far the left has not signed, there is no signature from anyone on the left,” he declared.
At the same press conference, Flávio once again stated that the bond with the businessman existed “solely and exclusively” because of film production.

The senator also announced that he requested a public accounting of the resources used in the film and said that amounts related to the investment made by companies indicated by Vorcaro will be separated for possible analysis by the Brazilian authorities.
