On Tuesday, a passenger motor vehicle collided with a pedestrian on the I/18 road in the village of Jánovce in the Poprad district. The road is currently impassable due to the documentation of the accident. The Prešov regional police informed about it on the social network.

“The bypass route leads along the local road in the village of Jánovce,” the police added, asking drivers to be more careful. Emergency services are on the scene. After the accident, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital by the ambulance crew. The driver of the car was not injured in the accident, his breathalyzer test was negative.

He revealed more about the accident at František Majerský (KDH), which was located right in the village. “This morning was one of the hardest. A small boy was hit by a motor vehicle in the village of Janovce. At that time I was right in the village and since I carry rescue equipment in the car, I immediately went to the place to help. The situation was very emotional and unclear. A large number of people gathered at the place, screaming, crying and great fear for the child could be heard everywhere. I had to raise my voiceso that I can create space for myself to access the patient and be able to concentrate on the basic examination,” wrote the member of the NR SR and continued.

“The boy was lying on the ground, with significant bleeding from the head area and a large laceration on the forehead. He was conscious, breathing spontaneously and responding to being addressed, therefore, I avoided unnecessary manipulation and tried to keep his condition as stable as possible until the arrival of the EMS crews. About five minutes later, the RV crew from Poprad arrived, followed by the RZP from Levoča. After a joint assessment of the condition, we put a neck collar on the patient, ensured gentle transport on a stretcher and continued pre-hospital care.” added Majerský a he praised his colleagues for their professional and excellent work.

“Events like this affect a person on the human side. When you see an injured child, the screams of the family and the helplessness of the people around, it stays with you for a long time. I believe that the boy will be fine and I keep my fingers crossed for him in the next fight. Please be careful on the roads. A second of inattention is enough and it can change a whole life,” he concluded in the status.
