On Monday, the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Eduard Burda, unexpectedly dismissed Jozef Čentéš from the position of head of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminology. He brought the information with the fact that he lost his position with immediate effect.
Čenteš was the head of the department for 11 years, he ended his position on Tuesday, May 19. The expert, who in the media tends to critically evaluate the criminal amendments implemented by the government coalition, confirmed that he lost his position, but did not want to go into details. “I expressed my opinion at a meeting with Mr. Dean, while not recognizing my appeal for substantive reasons. I do not intend to react further in the media“, N Čentéš told Denník.
The dean has not yet publicly specified the reasons for this step. “This is an internal labor law matter. You can ask Professor Čentéš about it if he is interested in commenting on it.” said Burda. At the same time, he added that he continues to count on Čentéš at school as a professor and guarantor of criminal law.
