Pepa Vojtek from the Kabát band face to face with Slovak HOCKEY fans: I played like I wasn’t afraid!

The legend of the rock scene will come to Slovakia! Pepa Vojtek, Milan Špalek, Tomáš Krulich, Radek Hurčík and Ota Váňa from the Kabát group prepared for the fans JACKET TOUR 2026which promises more than just concerts. Slovaks will enjoy rock in the cities: Bratislava (13.10.2026), Trenčín (15.10.2026), Elected (17.10.2026), Košice (20.10.2026) a Poprad (October 22, 2026). The band prepared a special setlist full of the biggest hits of their career. The audience is in for a visually captivating show that will exceed expectations!

Their story began to be written in 1983 in Teplice. A legend grew out of the local group, which today ranks among the most successful bands in the history of Czech-Slovak music. They have twelve studio albums, numerous awards, including the Czech Nightingale and the Angel awards.

The Slovak audience simply loves the Kabát band. It’s mutual because they always like to come back to us. “We started at a time when our countries were united. It was called Czechia-Slovakia, I am proud of it. To this day I am proud and we are all Czechoslovaks. And that’s why we don’t consider Slovakia a foreign country. I think that you can recognize that in that band, and that’s why the fans like us. We are not a foreign band,” declared leader Pepa Vojtek with musician Teri Čikoš.

Although they performed many concerts, one specific concert in Slovakia stuck in their memory over the years. It was connected with the now so topical topic of hockey. “I remember a concert somewhere in the east. It was a festival, I think. And we arrived at the festival an hour and a half later. We were supposed to play from 21:00 or 22:00, that was the very beginning. And we came there and you lost to us in hockey. And Josef (Vojtek), that’s 25 years old, and Josef climbed the stage then and those people were already mad, we weren’t that famous here. And they shouted things like: Coat, fuck it. Or as you say…” amused Milan Špalek.

“And Josef climbed up on that stage and said: How did we play that hockey game? Dudes! And he got the fans buzzing. And he said to those fans: Look, calm down, because you don’t have us in this hockey game! This is how it happened. And that’s how you actually got them. They said: Ah, so he is not afraid of us. And they started cheering for us at that moment,” he added to the unforgettable story. Pepa Vojtek added with a laugh that he was just playing, that he wasn’t afraid, but the opposite was true at that moment.

How do they view today’s rock scene and trends? What made them last so long as a band? What will their tour entail? You will find out in the VIDEO at the beginning of the article!
