The 2026 edition of Cultural Turn will have rock as one of the main highlights of the program. The festival takes place between the 23rd and 24th of May, in São Paulo, with dozens of free performances spread across various stages in the city.
Among the spaces most focused on the genre is Palco Butantã, which will bring together names from national rock, metal and hardcore. It starts on Saturday (23) with Black Panterafollowed by Ritual Killing e Edu Falaschiformer lead singer of Angra.
On Sunday (24), the same stage hosts Hurricanes, Scrotum, Raimundos e Cavadão bikini.
Punk rock will also have a special place in Tendal da Lapa. The place pays homage to the musician and activist Ariel Invasor with the exhibition “Memória Subterrânea”, as well as shows by historic bands from the national punk scene.
Among the confirmed attractions are Bilge Rats, Brain Invaders, Innocent, Anger, Rotten Boys, Slender, Hateen e Dead Fish.
Other stages at Virada will also have rock-related performances. In Brasilândia/Freguesia do Ó, the program includes shows by Banda 51 and Titans. The Republic Stage hosts a performance by the band Ira! not Sunday.
O São Paulo Municipal Theater will have special shows on Sunday morning with Mundo Livre S/A e The Mercenaries. The Sapopemba Stage will feature a presentation of Marcelo Falcaoformer vocalist of O Rappa.
Furthermore, the Mário de Andrade Library will host a show by the North American artist Lydia Lunch.
