The diagnosis of dementia is feared. If the symptoms are already severe, there are currently few or no treatment options. At the same time, more and more people are affected by the syndrome, which can have several causes and manifestations. According to the current European dementia report, 170,000 people in Austria already suffer from it; among those over 85, one in four women and one in six men are affected. By 2050 it is predicted that 300,000 people will be affected in Austria.
