Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 600 drones and 73 missiles. At least 11 people died; dozens were injured, many are under rubble.

Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 700 missiles and drones overnight, killing at least 11 people, hurting dozens and leaving other prey under the debris, authorities said today.

A Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones over Ukraineaccording to the Ukrainian air force, with the capital as its main targets Kiev, the central city of Dnipro and the eastern cities of Poltava, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia.

Ukraine’s air defense forces destroyed and neutralized 40 missiles and 602 drones.

Impacts of 30 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles and 33 drones were recorded in at least 38 locations. Debris from destroyed drones fell at 15 locations, the air force said.

At least four people died in Kiev and 63 were injuredincluding three children, Ukraine’s state emergency service said in a statement published on the Telegram messaging platform.

Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure were damaged in eight areas of Kiev.

The , which describes this “bloody attack” in Kiev, indicates that there are still many people still under the rubble and children among the injured.

Eight districts (oblasts) of Ukraine have been hit in the last few hours.

In the central region of Dnipropetrovsk, at least six people died and another 36 were injured after Russian attacks hit the city of Dnipro, according to the emergency service. A second attack, when rescuers arrived at the scene, killed one of them.

Em Kharkiv, at least 14 people were injured and homes, garages and cars were damaged.

A two-story residential building and part of a four-story apartment block were damaged, with people trapped under the block’s rubble.

In Kiev, in the area of Podilskyi, partial damage occurred to the upper floors of a nine-story building, leaving people trapped under the rubble.

Rescue operations were underway in the early hours of the morning, even though the air raid warning was still in effect.

Non-zone Solomianskyi, Also in the Ukrainian capital, a 20-story building and a 24-story building were damaged.

O Russian army confirmed the launch of “a massive attack with long-range, precision air, land and sea weapons, including hypersonic missiles and drones”.

The attack was target “facilities of the military industrial complex (…), Ukrainian fuel and transport infrastructures used by the Ukrainian army and military airfields”, he added, in a note published on the MAX messaging platform.

Moscow, which bombs Ukraine almost every night, has intensified daytime attacks in recent monthsprovoking a response from Kiev.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that Moscow was preparing “another massive attack” against Ukraine, while Russia called on foreign diplomats to leave Kiev.

Negotiations to end the large-scale offensive against Ukraine that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and created millions of refugees in more than four years of conflict have stalled.
