The Algarve project Barranco Longo Wine Experience – Integrated and Sustainable Wine Tourism in the Algarve was distinguished as the winner of the “Tourism & Wine” category in the final of the Innovative Projects and Activities Competition – INOVA ALGARVE + DIVERSIFICAR, promoted by NERA.
In addition to the distinction, the project received a cash prize of 2,500 euros, reinforcing the recognition of its proposal within the scope of enhancing the wine chain and diversifying the regional tourist offer.
The award ceremony took place during the conference dedicated to Fileira do Vinho, which brought together producers, winemakers, researchers, salespeople, those responsible for wine tourism, entrepreneurs and entities linked to the economic development of the Algarve.
Project combines wine, gastronomy, accommodation and nature
Presented by Flávia Luz, the winning project stood out for its innovative approach to wine tourism, proposing an integrated experience that combines wine, gastronomy, accommodation, training and nature activities.
Among the planned initiatives are visits to the winery, commented tastings, wine workshops, wine experiences at sunset, bird watching in the vineyards and themed events.
The proposal aims to create an ecosystem of experiences based on local resources, contributing to diversifying the region’s tourist offer and reinforcing the Algarve’s positioning as a differentiating wine destination.
The INOVA ALGARVE + DIVERSIFY Conference cycle continues in the coming months with new sessions dedicated to strategic sectors in the region.
After the Wine Row, there will be conferences dedicated to Carob and Almond, on June 9th, and Medronho, on June 18th. After the summer season, the program returns with initiatives focused on Plants and Flowers, Sea Economy, Geological Resources and Citrus.
