Cuban people ‘terribly want’ us to take care of them

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Thursday, 4th, that the population of Cuba “terribly wants” Washington to take care of the country that was once commanded by Fidel Castro and promised that he will do so. “We are going to take care of Cuba after we finish with Iran, maybe it will be possible to invest there,” Trump said this Thursday afternoon at an event at the White House to announce measures aimed at the coal industry.

After talking about measures for the energy sector, Trump answered questions about other topics and spoke about Cuba and Venezuela, among other topics. “Cuba would be nothing without Venezuela’s help,” said the American president.

Trump said the US had recovered “many times over” the costs of the offensive against Venezuela, in which it removed dictator Nicolás Maduro from power in January. “Venezuela’s money now comes to us and them,” he said.

The American president also commented on the conflict in Ukraine and other countries. “India took advantage of the US for many years without paying tariffs, now we want an agreement,” he said when talking about the tariffs imposed on the Asian country.

In the case of Russia, Trump said that Moscow and Ukraine will have to make compromises and reach a middle ground to end the war. “I ended eight wars, I can end the ninth and the tenth,” he said at the White House.
