The American president states, however, that the naval blockade will remain in force until the “transaction is made”
The US president canceled Thursday night’s attacks on Iran, according to his announcement on his social network.
“Taking into account that negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran were taken to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I, as President of the United States of America, canceled the air strikes and bombings planned against Iran for tonight”, the message read.
According to Donald Trump, “the negotiations and the final points were approved, both in terms of concept and details, by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and others”.
The American president also states that the naval blockade will remain in force until the “transaction is made”.
“The time and place of the signing will be announced soon”, said the American head of state.
The last few hours have been marked by an increase in tension between the two countries. This Wednesday, the US attacked dozens of targets in Iran in response to the shooting down, which Iran says was unintentional, of an American Apache helicopter on Monday.
“U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran today at 5:15 p.m. on orders from the Commander in Chief. The strikes are a response to Iran’s unwarranted and ongoing aggression,” CENTCOM published on X this Wednesday.
