Eduardo defends Júlia Zanatta as vice-president on Flávio’s ticket – 06/11/2026 – Politics

The former deputy (-SP) defended the name of federal deputy Júlia Zanatta (PL-SC) as vice-president on her brother’s ticket, senator (PL-RJ), in a post on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

In the post, there is an image of Zanatta and Flávio hugging. Eduardo also states that the Santa Catarina woman is loyal and would be “up to the job”. According to him, criticism from the left would also be signs of a good choice.

Zanatta was elected for the first time in 2022 with more than 111 thousand votes.

Throughout her term, her trajectory in the Chamber was marked by the riot carried out by Bolsonarist deputies in August 2025, following the house arrest of the former president (PL), later definitively convicted for his involvement in the coup plot.

The deputy took her daughter, at the time one, into the crowd that blocked the president of the house, deputy (-PB), from accessing the presidential chair.

The president of the Commission for the Defense of Children and Adolescents of the São Paulo section of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association), Thaís Dantas, said at the time that the child was “used as an object” and that there were signs of violation of the ECA (Child and Adolescent Statute).

Motta suggested suspending the mandate of Zanatta and other parliamentarians involved for six months. The Chamber’s inspector, deputy Diego Coronel (PSD-BA), suggested the penalty of written censorship. The case is still being processed.

The parliamentarian also had direct conflicts with left-wing parliamentarians. She and deputy Talíria Petrone (PSOL-RJ) discussed in the session that analyzed the arrest of then deputy Chiquinho Brazão, convicted of ordering the murder of councilor Marielle Franco (PSOL).

Zanatta said that they used Marielle’s body to “play politics”, and Petrone responded by telling her to “wash her mouth” when talking about the councilor.

The choice of a woman as vice-president on Flávio’s ticket has been defended by allies given the senator’s performance among female voters.

According to the Genial/Quaest survey released on Wednesday (10), Lula (PT) would have an advantage over Flávio in the first round of 10 percentage points in the general electorate. Among women, the difference rises to 17 points.

(-MS), former Minister of Agriculture in the Bolsonaro government, is also raised. The presidents of PL, Valdemar da Costa Neto, and PP, have already demonstrated public support for the senator’s name.
