Iranian state TV confirms agreement with US

Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, confirmed the peace deal with the United States on Iranian state television. The document will be signed on Friday (June 19, 2026), in Switzerland. The information is from the news agency .

“The text of the memorandum of understanding has been finalized and the official signing will take place in Switzerland on Friday. Our commitments will come into force from Friday”stated the deputy minister.

According to Iranian state TV, the term establishes that Tehran will regulate maritime traffic in the Gulf in coordination with Oman.

The term establishes two actions that will come into force immediately after signing. The 1st determines the end of hostilities on all fronts, including conflicts with Lebanon. The 2nd proposes the end of the naval blockade imposed by Washington against Tehran.

Gharibabadi attributed the agreement not only to diplomatic efforts, but stated that the peace agreement is also the result of “military conquests” from Iran.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif initially agreed to the peace agreement. The country was one of the mediators of the agreement.

Then, the North American president, Donald Trump (Republican Party), agreed. Trump said he had authorized the opening of the Strait of Hormuz duty-free from Friday and the end of the US naval blockade in the region.
