Featherweight was the first fight of the event held on Donald Trump’s 80th birthday
Brazilian Diego Lopes beat American Steve Garcia this Sunday (June 14, 2026), at a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) event held in the gardens of the White House, in Washington DC, in the United States.
The fight, valid for featherweight, was the first on the UFC Casa Branca schedule. The event will also feature 2 other Brazilians: Alex Pereira, known as Poatan, and Maurício Ruffy.
UFC AT THE WHITE HOUSE
UFC Casa Branca is held on the day that US President Donald Trump turns 80. The main fights start at 9pm, Brasília time, broadcast on Paramount+ on a pay-per-view system.
UFC President Dana White is an ally of Trump. He supported the Republican in presidential campaigns, spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention and helped the then-candidate reach out to young voters, especially men. In 2020, American outlets reported that White donated US$1 million to Trump’s campaign.
