Bolsonaro candidate from Roraima will have photo in the ballot box – 06/16/2026 – Panel

Despite the (Supreme Federal Court) having the (Regional Electoral Court) of Roraima and, therefore, preventing the candidacy of the Bolsonaro candidate for the state government, Arthur Henrique () continues to campaign in the streets and will have his photo printed on the ballot boxes.

The supplementary election will be held next Sunday (21), after the (Superior Electoral Court), Antonio Denarium (Republicans) and the then vice president, Edilson Damião (União Brasil).

The TRE had released Arthur’s candidacy by relaxing the electoral law and allowing candidates to leave public office up to 24 hours after the conventions, to compete in the supplementary election.

However, in May, the STF minister annulled the rule, which ranged from three to six months before the election.

The PL and Arthur’s campaign appealed and are still hoping for a turnaround in recent days. Therefore, on Sunday, the Bolsonarist’s photo will be on the ballot, but if the STF’s decision is upheld, the votes given to him will be annulled.

Meanwhile, the candidate with the most chances in the election is the current president of the Legislative Assembly, who took over the government on an interim basis, Soldado Sampaio (Republicans). He is an ally of the MDB, the party of former senator Romero Jucá.

The party was also affected by the STF’s decision, which barred Antônia Pedrosa, but the party got around the impediment and launched Nelita Frank. The state’s voters, however, are more right-wing and Nelita should not threaten Sampaio’s election.

The fear of allies of the current governor is to create wear and tear in the state with Arthur’s presence at the polls. The fear is that there will be many votes for the Bolsonarista and the political climate will become more intense during the October campaign.
