The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), postponed the meeting of leaders scheduled for this Tuesday afternoon (16) from 2pm to 3pm to debate the House’s voting agenda this week. The change comes amid uncertainty regarding the processing of the bill sent by the government on the end of the 6×1 scale.
According to the Political BroadcastIn the morning, Motta informed party leaders that the government had decided to withdraw the constitutional urgency regime on the proposal, which has been on the plenary agenda since May 30th.
As a result, the consideration of the text would no longer take place this Tuesday, as previously planned. Designated rapporteur for the matter, deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA) would even present his opinion to the leaders of the House during this afternoon’s meeting, maintaining the same content of the proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) approved at the end of May.
The position was reinforced by the Minister of Institutional Relations, José Guimarães, in an interview with GloboNews. “It is important to say that this PL that we presented with extreme urgency was to, in a way, adapt something that was not resolved in the PEC, a kind of project to regulate the PEC. We spoke with President Hugo Motta yesterday, by 2 pm we will remove the urgency”, declared the head of the government’s political articulation.
Until the publication of this note, however, the withdrawal had not yet taken place.
