Qatar was more active

Tehran and Washington reached an agreement over the weekend, which they are expected to sign on Friday. AFP notes that Qatar refused to enter into negotiations during the attacks by Iran, which carried out retaliatory strikes on the countries of the Persian Gulf. However, in recent weeks, Qatar has played a more active role in the negotiations alongside Pakistan.

The spokesman of the Qatari Department of Diplomacy confirmed that the representatives of Qatar and Pakistan will also be present at the signing of the memorandum. At the same time, he urged “regional dialogue” after the signing of the memorandum. “I cannot say that we are returning to normality in our region with our neighbors… there is a great need for dialogue and agreement on how to ensure the security of our region,” the spokesman added.
