Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated in an interview with SBT News this Friday, the 19th, who believes in the recovery of votes lost after the Federal Police operation against the government leader in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), at a time when electoral polls have shown a greater advantage for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in a possible second round of the election.
On the occasion, the pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic for the PL commented on also being involved in the Banco Master scandal, with the revelation of an audio by the The Intercept Brazil in which the senator asks banker Daniel Vorcaro for money, to finance the biopic of former president Jair Bolsonaro, entitled “Dark Horse”.
“If logic serves to justify my supposed drop in the polls, because of a private relationship, what will it say then? All these votes will come back to me now, since it is being proven that there is corruption on the part of the relationship between Lula’s friends and Vorcaro”, he declared.
Flávio said that he has always defended the establishment of a Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) into Banco Master and stated that the scandal about Vorcaro “is the PT’s”. The senator reiterated the allegation he made on other occasions about his relationship with the banker having dealt exclusively with private investments. The parliamentarian also said that he sees greater gravity in the case of Jaques Wagner compared to the revelations about the film.
Furthermore, Flávio mentioned suspicions regarding the son of the President of the Republic, Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as “Lulinha”, in the fraud scandal regarding benefits from the National Social Security Institute (INSS). “The retiree’s money could be in Lulinha’s account, there in Europe”, he declared. Lulinha’s defense denies involvement in illegalities, and he has not been charged nor is he formally investigated.
Wagner was the target of the ninth phase of Operation Compliance Zero, by the Federal Police, which investigates fraud linked to the Master bank. The PF suspects that the senator received a property and bribe payments through a company linked to one of his family members.
On Thursday, the 18th, Jaques Wagner’s office released a note in which it said that the parliamentarian “calmly follows” the progress of the investigations and “maintains confidence in their conduct”. He denies irregularities and says that “he is not a defendant, was not denounced and was not accused in any process related to the facts investigated”.
“Accountability about the film”
Flávio Bolsonaro also stated in an interview that he is still waiting for the production company Go Up Entertainment to present an accounting of the film “Dark Horse”, a biopic of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), which was made with resources from the owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, according to revelations on the website The Intercept Brazil.

On May 15, Flávio had told journalists that he asked the producer to report on the film. A month later, the senator did not publicly report the result of the procedure. “I’m waiting for the producer itself to present its accounts, as it was the one who made the expenses and the hiring to make the film viable,” he declared.
Flávio added: “In fact, it has now come out recently, it seems that, in a legal action, the producer presents an accounting, which already has expenses in greater amounts than those invested by those who invested money in the film”.
The senator also denied that the owner of Banco Master invested in the film. “It wasn’t Vorcaro who invested money in the film, it was a company he recommended,” he stated.

Last week, the website Metropolises published an article that says that the Dark Horse producer declared R$75 million spent on the film about Bolsonaro. According to the article, the information comes from a private expert report hired by Go Up itself and attached to the process in which the Instituto Saber Brasil (ICB) is being investigated on suspicion of embezzling money from a contract with the City of São Paulo.
The value is lower than the amount of R$134 million negotiated by Flávio, according to the Intercept. The amount actually paid to the film by Vorcaro, through the company Entrepay, was R$61 million.
