With Renan himself at his side at the event, the deputy also declared that he will start contacting renowned economists to invite them to participate in a possible government of the ally, or at least to collaborate on projects.
He mentioned, among those he intends to look for, Zeina Latif, Marcos Mendes, Samuel Pessoa, Elena Landau, Marcos Lisboa, Mário Mesquita, Mansueto Almeida and the team that created the Real Plan.
None of them will be a kind of Ipiranga post, according to Renan, as happened with Paulo Guedes in Jair Bolsonaro’s government.
Kataguiri had been scoring around 5% in most polls, but the newly created party thought it would be more strategic to re-elect him to the Chamber, helping to attract votes for other candidates for deputy.
With his withdrawal, Missão will still evaluate whether it will launch another name for the government or whether it will remain neutral in the election for the São Paulo government. Supporting another candidate is ruled out.
For Renan, the lack of his own candidate in the state, who could provide a platform for his presidential project, would not be a problem.
“Panque is an old term in politics, in which you need the structure of an ally to hold an event, have access to the press. I don’t need that. Our political logic is 3.0, it’s post-social media, based on engaged communities”, he stated.
With Kataguiri’s retreat and the most likely scenario is only two competitive candidacies for the government of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) and Fernando Haddad (PT). In this case, the tendency is for definition in the first round.
