A small plane crashed this Friday (June 26, 2026) into the tallest building in Beijing, the CITIC Tower, located in a business area of ​​the Chinese capital. The accident occurred around 6pm local time. The pilot died on impact.

The collision broke some windows, but the structure of the building was intact. The base had some fires due to the plane crash, but, so far, there are no reports of injuries. Chinese police surrounded the block around the building.

The plane was a Sunward SA 60L Aurora model, which weighs around 400 kg. According to the website, the aircraft belonged to Shuangyue General Aviation, a company that offers training services for pilots and recreational flights.

Flight route records show that the plane took off from an air cargo terminal about an hour from Beijing, made a turn and then flew directly to the center of the Chinese capital.
