The Paraguayan team will be Germany’s opponents in the 32-team phase of the World Cup, FIFA (International Football Federation) confirmed this Friday (26).
The clash was defined following the results of Group H, in which Spain beat Uruguay 1-0, while Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia drew 0-0.
The match will be played on Monday (29), at 5:30 pm, at Gillette Stadium, in Boston. Whoever qualifies in the match will face the winner of France x Sweden in the round of 16.
Therefore, the clashes confirmed so far in the first knockout phase are:

- Netherlands x Morocco
- USA x Bosnia-Herzegovina
- Brazil x Japan

Australia, Switzerland, Mexico and Spain are still awaiting the definition of their opponents.
The German team will once again face a South American team after the 2-1 defeat to Ecuador in the last round of the group stage.
Despite the setback, Germany finished top of Group E, with 6 points, after beating Ivory Coast and Curaçao in the first two rounds.
Paraguay ended the group stage in third place in Group D, with 4 points. The Paraguayan team debuted with a defeat to the USA, beat Turkey and drew with Australia.
