The President of Russia, stated, this Sunday (June 28, 2026), that the West tried to defeat the country on the battlefield and destabilize Russian society, but failed “in all aspects“. The statement was made at the congress of the ruling United Russia party.
Putin said Russia needs to be “strong and sovereign” or the country will not exist. According to him, in moments of weakness, other nations “stop taking Russia into account and start speaking the language of force”.
He further stated that “elas [nações] they try to ‘test our mettle’ as the saying goes; They want to weaken us by any means necessary and get rid of us as a global force that has always opposed evil. No one has ever managed to do this, nor will they do it now or in the future.”.
The Russian president also stated that he is losing ground on the front lines and, therefore, resorts to terrorism within Russian territory. According to Putin, Russians will face all challenges, “including terrorist attacks” to infrastructure.
This Sunday (June 28), the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky (Servant of the People, center), stated that the country two Russian oil refineries in the early hours.
As for the next elections, in September, Putin said they will feature a “open and free dispute, as adherence to these democratic institutions guarantees the strength of our nation“. He said that party members “they need to spend less time in offices and more time in the field – talking to people, meeting them and trying to understand them“.
