Operation targets people linked to Sóstenes, PL leader in the Chamber

The PF (Federal Police) launched this Wednesday (July 1, 2026) the 3rd phase of the Rent a Car operation, called Galho Fraco 2, to deepen the investigation into diversion of resources from the parliamentary quota used in hiring car rental companies.

The current phase is the unfolding of investigations that have already reached people linked to the deputies (PL-RJ), leader of the PL in the Chamber, and (PL-RJ). In December 2024, the PF search and seizure against the 2 congressmen. At that time, the corporation was investigating the use of car rental companies to simulate service provision contracts paid for with parliamentary funds.
