On Tuesday, the EU finance ministers in Brussels officially decided to open an EU deficit procedure against Austria. They followed a recommendation from the EU Commission. The Austrian fiscal structure plan, which includes measures to reduce the deficit, was also approved. Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer (SPÖ) was a guest in the ZIB2 studio on Tuesday evening.
