Automaker released preliminary results with a drop in revenue and vehicle shipments, especially in North America
It released on Monday (21.Jul.2025) the preliminaries of the 1st semester, with net loss of about US $ 350 million, impacted by the tariffs imposed by the United States. The measure is part of President Donald Trump’s commercial policy and directly affected the automaker, formed by the merger of the groups Peugeot SA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
In addition to tariffs, the company attributed the negative result to restructuring efforts and increased operating costs. Stellantis did not detail which products or product lines were most affected or specified the scope of restructuring measures. The company also did not publicly comment on the strategies to face the challenges.
During the 1st semester of 2025, the automaker consumed 2.3 billion euros in cash. Early disclosure of data aimed to justify the difference between projections and results.
Global vehicle shipments fell to 1.45 million units in the 2nd quarter, compared to 1.54 million in the same period of 2024. In North America, the fall was 25%, with 109,000 less vehicles, due to the reduction in manufacturing and the smallest imported shipments – the most impacted by tariffs.
In Europe, shipments retreated 6%to 722 thousand units. The company stated that new models are in acceleration or await production in the second half of the year. In China, India and Asia-Pacific, shipments also fell 6%, totaling about 16,000 vehicles.
