This is the most expensive toll in Portugal and the price for class 1 vehicles is slightly more than 2 €

Based on the official toll price table for 2025, the most expensive section per kilometer in Portugal, for class 1 vehicles, is far from a conventional highway. The lead belongs, with a large margin, to the 25 de Abril Bridge, whose rate of 2.15 euros applied to a length of only six kilometers represents a cost of about 0.358 euros per kilometer.

According to the document provided by the ACP relating to the tolls in force in 2025, this amount widely exceeds all other sections of the National Highway Network subject to collection. By way of comparison, the Vasco da Gama Bridge, also under Lusoponte management, costs 3.30 euros for an extension of 18 kilometers, which is equivalent to 0.183 euros per kilometer.

High toll on a short route

This discrepancy is partly due to the bridge collection structure on the Tagus. As the document clarifies, the payment is made only in the south -north direction. Thus, those who enter Lisbon by Almada are fully enduring the cost of the crossing, without compensation in the opposite direction.

According to the same source, most of those self -established with conventional management have significantly lower kilometer values. An example is the section between the loaded and Aveiras de Cima (A1), which has a cost of 1.10 euros for a distance of 15.6 kilometers, about 0.070 euros per kilometer.

Away from the national average

Other sections that approach the highest values per mile are mainly short segments with minimal rates. The bid between A1/A10 and loaded, with only 0.9 kilometers and a cost of 0.10 euros, results in an average of 0.111 euros per kilometer. Still, it remains far below the amount charged on the 25 de April bridge.

It refers to the same document provided by the total value of the 25 de Abril Bridge crossing is fixed, regardless of the distance effectively traveled, since it is not a self -destroyed with multiple input and output points, but rather a unique and targeted access as autonomous unit.

The weight of urban crossing

It writes the same source that, in other urban contexts, such as the A5 section between the National Stadium and Oeiras (3.5 km by 0.40 euros), the value per kilometer is around 0.114 euros. Even so, these sections remain well below the 25 de April bridge, which reinforces the uniqueness of this case in the national scene.

According to the full table of the toll rates for class 1 vehicles, no other section exceeds the mark of 30 cents per kilometer. The national average in the concession self -established oscillates between the seven and the 12 cents per kilometer, making the cost of crossing a case a separate case.

Ponte 25 de Abril toll is the most expensive

The analysis of the values per kilometer in different roads and concessions confirms, clearly, that the 25 de Abril Bridge is the most expensive section of Portugal in 2025 for light vehicles, with 35.8 cents per kilometer.
