After a Brazilian Championship of ups and downs, Vitória fans will go to Barradão this Sunday (1st), at 6:30 pm, to watch their favorite team against Fortaleza. In the Leões clash, the hope of the Red and Blacks is that the host will be able to confirm their dream stay in the first division in the 36th round.

As soon as they enter the field, the Bahians will already know the result of the duel between Criciúma and Corinthians. If the Santa Catarina team are overcome or draw, Vitória will need to win the three points and hope that Red Bull Bragantino does not beat Cruzeiro, or that Athletico-PR defeats Fluminense, in matches on the same day and time.

Regarding the possibility of celebrating a place in the 2025 Series A this weekend, midfielder Willian Oliveira said that a personal objective will be fulfilled.

“The importance of achieving permanence. I aim to do my best. And, when I step into the club and leave it in the same place where I found it, I meet my goal. Regarding goals, this has been our message game by game. In the second round, the numbers prove this. And this group is to be congratulated”, he gave the message.

Who plays?

For the match, coach Thiago Carpini will not have striker Carlos Eduardo available. The player received his third yellow card against Botafogo and is serving a suspension. Substituted in the last game, midfielder Matheuzinho spent the week undergoing treatment for the trauma he suffered to his knee. However, the tendency is for shirt 30 to be present among the starters in the northeastern classic.

Probable Vitória lineup: Lucas Archangel; Raúl Cáceres, Edu, Neris, Wagner Leonardo and Lucas Esteves; Ricardo Ryller, Willian Oliveira and Matheuzinho; Janderson and Alerrandro.

In all competitions, 25 games were played between the two teams, with 10 victories for Vitória, nine for Fortaleza and six draws. As home team, the red-and-black team received their rivals on 12 occasions, winning six, drawing four and losing two matches.

Despite this, the Bahian club was surpassed in six of the last eight meetings. They finished 0-0 in another and only won at Nordestão 2024, when they beat Fortaleza 1-0 away from home. Matheuzinho was the scorer of the only goal.

In the first round of the Brazilian Championship, Vitória fell to Fortaleza 3-1, at Arena Castelão. Breno Lopes, Pochettino and Tinga scored for the Ceará tricolor, while Zé Hugo scored for Leão da Barra.

If the red and black team hopes to confirm their stay in Series A, Fortaleza lives with the expectation of guaranteeing their place in the Libertadores group stage in the 36th round. But it depends on a combination of results.

For the duel, coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda will not have full-back Eros Mancuso, who is suspended for the third yellow card, and midfielder Pedro Augusto, in the medical department.

Probable Fortaleza lineup: João Ricardo; Marinho, Britez, Kuscevic, Titi and Felipe Jonatan; Hércules, Matheus Rossetto and Emmanuel Martínez; Moses and Lucero.
