In the current hunting season, 24 wolves have been shot. At the same time two wolves died in the district of Liptovský Mikuláš. This stems from the records of catching (death) wolf predatory in the hunting information system.

Hunters caught Vlkov in the districts of Kežmarok, Banská Bystrica, Svidník, Liptovský Mikuláš, Žilina, Levoča, Stará Ľubovňa, Martin, Detva, Snina, Ružomberok, Poprad, Zvolen, Gelnica, Poltár and Stropkov.
The Ministry of Agriculture allowed 74 individuals of the wolf of a predatory wolf in the hunting season 2025/2026. The quota for hunting was distributed among the regions. Hunting is not allowed in territories with the fifth degree of protection, in the territories of European importance in which the wolf is ferociously subject to protection, in border areas With Poland, Czech and Hungary, in the Pannonian biogeographic region and in the territories around ecoders.
The decision was criticized by the environment. According to them, this is a failure because the quota has no scientific justification, does not bring farmers the solution and directly threatens the population of the wolf. They called on hunters and hunting associations not to join the wolves.
