Since the departure of the Czech singing legend Karel Gott († 80) passed six years on the first of October 2025. His legacy is also taken care of by wife Ivana (49), who often speaks to fans through social networks. Karel good was born on 14 July 1939 in Pilsen. After moving to Prague he was trained as an electrician in CKD. His father has always insisted to learn and get an honest craft. The mother, in turn, supported his love for music. Since 1957 he began to sing amateurly, and a year later he took part in the competition MEME NEW TALENTS IN Prague’s Slavic House.
He was successful at the audience, but not with the jury. He started performing regularly in the well -known Alfa and Vltava cafes. In 1960 he took exams at the conservatory, studied singing at Konstantin Karenin.
The first stronger success was his participation in the program of Czechoslovak Television We are FEM FEM SIGN for the weekdays, where he sang together with his own Průkova song until we were twice Tolik. With the orchestra of Karel Vlach, he recorded the scrip of Pro Martin. The results of the Golden Slavik poll appeared in the first year in 1962. Waldemar Matuška won, Gott was 49. He won the poll a year later.
In 1963 he received an engagement at the Prague Theater Semafor. The first performance in which he performed was Zuzana for no one at home. Gott sang three songs in it – Sáňa, eyes Sněhem, and the Woody. The song Eyes Sněhem has become the biggest hit of 1963. In the traffic light he met his brothers Ladislav and Jiří Štaidlovci, in 1965 they left to establish their own Apollo Theater. The first premiere was the program called Vacu Pro two.
In 1965, Supraphon released his first LP record called Karel Gott. In March 1968 he represented Austria at the Eurovision Grand Prix with the song Tausend Fenster, composed by UDO Jürges. In October 1968 he won the gold medal at the Zlatý Kohút festival in Rio de Janeiro for the song Karel Svoboda and Jiří Štaida Lady Carnival.
Its popularity has continued to grow, as evidenced by the sale of the records and the Golden Slavik poll, in which he was always the first in 1969 – 1982. He was awarded the title of Merited Artist and 30 April 1985 for his exceptional artistic activities.
Gott was the holder of 22 Czechoslovak and 20 Czech Golden Slavic, owned more than 60 gold plates, seven diamond records, recorded approximately 2600 songs. In the American city of Las Vegas he married on January 7, 2008, married Ivana Macháčková, who gave birth to two daughters Nelly Sofia and Charlotte Ell. From the illegitimate relationship, Gott had two adult daughters Dominica and Lucka.
