It is next to the sea that the town of Monte Gordo stands and with the tradition of fishing still present today, the most common thing is to find several restaurants spread throughout the streets where you can eat fish and seafood. At the Sabores do Mar restaurant, the fish rodízio is the calling card and, as the name suggests, you can eat all the fish you want for a fixed price.
In this case, to enjoy an unrestricted selection of fish you will have to pay a total of 20 euros. Between sardines, mackerel, sea bream, tuna belly, sea bass and salmon, the only limit is your hunger. In addition to fish, the carvery also includes two side dishes of your choice.
No need to ask for rotation
Still, if you don’t have the stomach for so much fish, you can always opt for the dishes listed on the menu. If you prefer one of the dishes on the menu, know that when you reserve your table through The Fork app you can access a 30% discount on the final value of your order. For now, it is known that you can make reservations with the right to a discount until January 6, 2026.
Although the main focus of Sabores do Mar is fish, meat is also eaten at this restaurant. Prices for meat dishes vary between 12.50 euros and 15 euros, with emphasis on pork, turkey and veal bites, as well as chicken breading. It should be noted that the prices mentioned may be even lower if the discount is applied.
Dish of the day at 12 euros
A different dish of the day is also available every day and costs 12 euros. The average price of a meal, including drink, is 19 euros.

Sabores do Mar is located in the village of Monte Gordo, just a few minutes walk from the beach with the same name and can be the perfect place to stretch out your towel on the sand or take a walk along the seafront after lunch. At Monte Gordo Beach you will come across several fishing boats, proof of the continuity of the fishing tradition in the town.
If you visit Monte Gordo Beach in the morning, you are most likely to see fishermen arrive at the beach with fresh fish that is then distributed to the various restaurants in the town.
Between Vila Real de Santo António and Manta Rota
Once on the sand facing the Atlantic Ocean, walk to your left and you will reach Vila Real de Santo António. On the other hand, if you walk to your right you will pass through Altura and you can walk to Manta Rota.
