Vienna – October was the month in 2025 in which asylum applications fell the most compared to the same period last year. The 1,293 applications submitted are a decrease of 49 percent compared to October 2024. According to Interior Ministry statistics, there were a total of 14,325 applications in the first ten months, which corresponds to a decline of a good third.
