President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was rushed to hospital, late on Monday night (9), at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, where he underwent a surgical procedure to drain a hematoma.
According to a medical bulletin released at 3:20 am this Tuesday (10), Lula fell ill while still in Brasília. He had an imaging test after feeling a headache.

“The MRI showed intracranial hemorrhage, resulting from the home accident suffered on 10/19. He was transferred to Hospital Sírio-Libanês, São Paulo unit, where he underwent craniotomy to drain the hematoma. The surgery was uneventful,” the hospital said.
According to the medical bulletin, “at the moment, the President is well, under monitoring in an ICU bed”. A new bulletin should be released in the morning, when a press conference will also be held, scheduled for 9 am.
Lula is under the care of the medical team, led by Roberto Kalil Filho and Ana Helena Germoglio.
