Cristiano Ronaldo and UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria are the protagonists of an unexpected media conflict. The disagreement began in October, when Ronaldo, during a conversation with fighter Francis Ngannou, criticized Topuria by stating that he “talked too much” and “didn’t fight top opponents”.
The statement prompted a scathing response from Topuria on social media, where he expressed his displeasure: “I didn’t expect someone like you to not be able to distinguish between confidence and arrogance. But in the end, we all reflect our own reality onto others. I wish you the best for what remains of your career and may God bless your family.”
Now, the Spanish fighter has returned to comment on the matter, this time speaking to the program Partidazocope.
Asked about who he would invite to the next fight in Miami, Topuria highlighted Lionel Messi’s name and took the opportunity to launch a provocation at the Portuguese star: “The person I’m going to personally invite is Messi because he lives there. So, f*** Cristiano as long as Messi exists.”
