A PCERJ (Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro) arrestedthis Tuesday (09), Walace Kevin Ferreira do Nascimento, known as “Xerequinha”, investigated for the kidnapping, robbery and extortion of a taxi driver in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The suspect was captured by civil police officers from the 67th DP, in Guapimirim, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro.

The crime
On November 18, a taxi driver was called to a race in Rio and, upon arriving at the agreed location, he was captured by three armed criminals. The bandits stole belongings, demanded bank transfers and restricted the victim’s freedom.
During the action, the taxi driver managed to escape near Irajá, in the North Zone, and asked for help. According to investigations, Wallace Kevin participated in the incident.
“Removing the person being investigated from circulation stops his criminal activity, reduces the risk of new violent crimes against taxi drivers and app drivers in Guapimirim and restores the feeling of security in the municipality”, stated delegate Fabrício Costa, head of the 67th DP (Guapimirim).
PCERJ reported that investigations continue to identify and arrest the others involved.
