The President of the United States, Donald Trump, declared this Monday that his Administration is “investigating” whether Israel violated the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by killing the ‘number two’ of the Ezzeldin al Qassam Brigades, Raad Saad, last Saturday.
“We will have to see it. We are investigating it,” he responded when asked if the Israeli air attack that killed Saad and three other members of the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) this weekend was a “violation” of the truce reached on October 10.
The White House tenant has also denied that Israeli authorities are “undermining his efforts” to mediate in the Palestinian enclave, stating that “(his) relationship with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu has obviously been very good.”
“Look, we eliminated Iran. We destroyed the B-2 bomber. We eliminated the Iranian nuclear threat. And thanks to that, we were able to achieve peace in the Middle East. Now we have a very good relationship with Israel,” he said, referring to the offensive against the Central Asian country’s nuclear facilities at the beginning of last June.
In this sense, he assured from the Oval Office that “we also have a very good relationship with almost everyone in the Middle East.”
On the other hand, the US president has considered that, “in a certain way, the International Stabilization Force to be deployed in the Gaza Strip is already in operation (and) in a very solid way.”
Trump has assured that “59 countries” have committed to contributing by sending troops to this force, which he has said, “will get stronger and stronger.” “More and more countries will join. They are already participating, but they will send the number of troops that I have asked them to send. They want to see peace,” he remarked.
