Hyatt Hotels Corporation opened the Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve this week, the result of the rebranding of the former Dom Pedro Vilamoura. The unit has 257 rooms and 21 suites and represents a reinforcement of the North American group’s presence in the Algarve, integrating Hyatt’s portfolio in Portugal and preparing the ground for future openings in Lisbon.

According to Jornal Económico, the management of the unit was the responsibility of DETAILS – Hospitality, Sports & Leisure, an Arrow Global platform in Portugal, specialized in tourist assets, sports and leisure.

Rebranding and expansion strategy

According to the same source, Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve follows the rebranding of the former Dom Pedro Vilamoura and is part of Hyatt’s growth strategy in the European market.

Manuel Melenchon, Managing Director Southern EMEA at Hyatt, explained: “Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve reinforces Hyatt’s commitment to the brand’s growth in Portugal and the European market.” He also added that the unit combines “contemporary design, excellent service and a dynamic leisure and business offer”.

Design and regional inspiration

The hotel group stated that the design of the unit was inspired by the Algarve heritage: “Influenced by the colors and materials of the region, greens, blues, tones of sand and terracotta, the interiors reflect local craftsmanship, simplicity and connection to nature”, quotes the newspaper.

According to the same source, this approach seeks to reinforce the connection to the territory, maintaining international standards of comfort and contemporary aesthetics.

Gastronomy and experiences

The hotel has the Brasa Coastal Steakhouse, which offers “a premium experience with charcoal grilled meats, fresh seafood and gourmet specialties inspired by the south coast”, adds the publication.

It is also important to highlight that the Terrace Pool Bar creates “an informal environment for cocktails and light meals”, while the Lume Lounge Bar “stands out for its intimate and sophisticated atmosphere”, serving as a meeting point for guests and the local community.

Events and leisure

The Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve has 993 square meters of versatile event spaces, including six meeting rooms for workshops and corporate meetings, as written by .

The main hall has capacity for 300 participants and is intended for weddings, social celebrations and business events. The leisure offer includes a Technogym gym, heated indoor pool, yoga areas, racket center with padel and pickleball courts, mini golf, pétanque and beach volleyball court, as well as a spa with sauna, jacuzzi and three treatment rooms.

Guests and regional impact

Javier Soler, general director of Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve, further stated: “We hope to create memorable stays for all our guests.” The unit also includes a Kids Club and children’s playground, allowing families, couples and business travelers to welcome them.

Francisco Moser, co-CEO of DETAILS, highlighted that the partnership with Hyatt “reinforces Vilamoura’s positioning as a reference destination in Portugal and Europe” and “consolidates the Algarve’s role in the premium tourism segment, integrating hospitality, sports and leisure with a lasting impact on the region”.
