Zelenskyy reacts to large-scale night attacks: Russia prefers… to diplomacy!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi declared on Tuesday that Russia prefers continued attacks to peace negotiations. He responded to large-scale night attacks by Russian forces on several parts of the country, reports TASR.

  • Zelenskyy claims that Russia prefers attacks to peace in Ukraine.
  • Night Russian attacks hit several areas of Ukraine, causing damage and injuries.
  • Russia launched more than 70 missiles and 450 drones during the attack.
  • In Kyiv, there are over a thousand buildings without heating during extreme frosts.
  • Further negotiations on the war will take place in Abu Dhabi, territorial claims are disputed.

“Using the coldest days of winter to terrorize people is more important to Russia than turning to diplomacy,” wrote Zelensky on the X social network. According to him, Russia sent more than 70 missiles and 450 drones to Ukraine on Tuesday night.

The attacks hit the Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Odesa and Vinnytsia regions. According to Zelensky, at least nine people were injured. “Normal residential buildings and energy infrastructure are damaged. In Kyiv, drone strikes caused fires in high-rise buildings and damaged a kindergarten,” added the Ukrainian president.

According to local authorities, there are more than a thousand residential buildings without heating in the capital. On Tuesday night, temperatures there dropped to -17 degrees Celsius and -23 degrees in Kharkiv. Zelenskyi therefore called on Ukraine’s partners to strengthen air defense and increase pressure on Russia.

A second round of ceasefire talks between Russian, Ukrainian and US officials is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi. Among the main points of contention are Russia’s territorial claims.
