Jarmila Lajčáková Hargašová she was one of the most famous faces of the Slovak presenter scene. The wife of former minister Miroslav Lajčák, who is involved in a scandal for communicating with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, prioritized her family over her career. The former TV star and the politician have daughters Vanessa and Lara together. In an interview for sa Lajčáková Hargašová praised that she is already a two-time grandmother and devotes her time mainly to her grandchildren.

In addition, a completely different energy for me. I had daughters, now I have boys. I can’t describe in words what I experience with them and how much love they give me.” she confided in February 2025.
They have quicksilver at home. They discharge their batteries with movement. “Without sports, it would not be possible to manage with them. That is actually the price for survival here. Our boys do football, tennis, boxing, climbing, cycling, skiing. They just do everything. All with full commitment, sometimes with some bruises and scrapes, but it’s amazing. I’m glad that they want to do it, that they adore the movement, and to the layman’s eye, I think they’re talented.” said Hargašová.
He can also watch sports matches with his grandchildren, they especially love hockey. “They put scarves around their necks, sit in front of the TV with popcorn and we have to watch. We also go to the stadium with them, so they are very happy about that. When they can go to hockey with their grandmother,” spoke the proud grandmother with a smile on her lips.
Challenging life with a diplomat

“At the time when I was a single mother – which I have been all my life, because my husband was always away somewhere – I am really the most honest… When I was receiving all kinds of awards and I wanted to be successful in my work, I told myself that I the success at work doesn’t really make me happy and that I would trade it for a family and I really wanted one more child,” she confided to Adele Vincze.
Lajčáková Hargašová also remembered the moments when the diplomat was at home and their older daughter was so used to being only with her that she used the feminine gender even with him. It seemed strange to the girl that she should speak differently. The presenter described how Lajčák reacted to it. “It seemed very sad to him, because she once told him when he came home for the weekend that, daddy, how long are you going to stay with us? And that’s not a very pleasant question you want to hear from your child,” said Lajčáková Hargašová.
