- British police are investigating possible disclosure of confidential documents to Prince Andrew Epstein.
- Prince Andrew served as Special Representative for Trade and Investment from 2001-2011.
- The US Department of Justice released emails confirming contact between Andrew and Epstein.
British police in the Thames Valley region announced on Monday that they are investigating claims made by the brother of the British king, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor during his tenure as UK Special Representative for Trade and Investment confidential documents to sex offender Jefferey Epstein. TASR informs about it according to the report of the Sky News station.
“We acknowledge receipt of this report and are reviewing the information in accordance with our established procedures,” said a police spokesman. The former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was Epstein’s longtime friend. Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier and convicted sex offender, became a scandalous symbol of the abuse of underage girls for the benefit of prominent clients. In August 2019, he died in his prison cell – it was officially a suicide.
At the end of January, the US Department of Justice allegedly released the last batch of materials from the files on Epstein. It also includes the e-mail communication from November 30, 2010. It states that Mountbatten-Windsor sent Epstein “reports of visits to Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shenzhen” related to his trip to Southeast Asia at the time.
The brother of the British king was the UK’s special representative for trade and investment between 2001 and 2011. In this capacity he often promoted British business interests abroad. Mountbatten-Windsor denies the allegations regarding Epstein. However, his name is repeatedly mentioned in the files, which also include photographs.
The case of the younger son of the late Queen Elizabeth II. and his link to Epstein is among the biggest scandals of the British monarchy in recent decades. Mountbatten-Windsor was therefore stripped of the title of His Royal Highness and other military titles several years ago. In October, King Karol III. he began the formal process of revoking his brother’s remaining titles and honors. According to information from the BBC station, the former prince moved out of his residence, Royal Lodge, located near Windsor Castle, a few days ago.
