A coffee maker is a popular alternative to an espresso machine. You can prepare aromatic black coffee with a taste similar to espresso. This small brewer is easy to use, but sometimes it burns. Can a coffee maker be cleaned at home? We tell you how to do it.
The coffee maker is also known as kupres, kafetierka, moka or makinetka. This is a pressure kettle designed for brewing coffee. It is most often made of aluminum alloy or steel and is a small alternative to an espresso machine.
Many people know perfectly well how to prepare coffee, but do not know how to properly clean and maintain the coffee maker so that it serves for many years. Therefore, it is worth knowing that you absolutely must not wash it in and should be disassembled after each use to clean thoroughly.
We start working on the coffee pot as soon as it cools down. You can pour cold water over it to make it lose heat faster. After disassembling the equipment, throw out the coffee, pour out the remaining liquid and remove the seal. Rinse the coffee maker with warm running water, without detergents. After washing, we should dry it to prevent stains or corrosion.
If necessary, we can use a soft sponge or cloth. It is best to wipe it dry with a paper towel, but even after doing this, leave the coffee maker unfolded to dry completely.
If we burnt a coffee maker, it does not mean that the product should be thrown away. There is a simple, home method that will save it. We can clean it by boiling a solution of water with 5 tablespoons of citric acid. We can also use water and vinegar (2:1 proportions). This way we will clean the inside of the equipment. After cooking, simply rinse the coffee maker thoroughly.
If, on the other hand, we burned the outside of the coffee maker, we can use a paste prepared from baking soda and water. After applying the paste to the burnt area, use a soft sponge to scrub the coffee maker.
